This morning I’m a little pissed and feel like writing another lesson on the differences between a few different dynamics of being.
In the ocean, there are rocks, sponges, and coral, let’s dive in:
We’ll leave the most valuable for last . . .
Rock
When you’re a rock in the ocean, you don’t serve much purpose. You’re at the bottom and the things that attach to you likely serve little purpose either, they use you to stick to and maybe they live there their whole lives with you, either way, you’re both at the bottom.
Sponge
As a sponge, you absorb. The problem with ALWAYS being a sponge, is you absorb EVERYTHING and with that comes the positive and the negative. Discernment is difficult because you have combatting thoughts and perspectives, but at least you’re not a rock.
Coral
Here is where the real sauce is!
When you’re coral in the reef, you help the environment around you. Filtering out pollutants, ensuring clean water for all the life around you, you’re able to let things pass through you without a need for much attention, if it’s good then great, you get more nutrients and stay alive. If it’s toxic, you find ways to say ‘oh that’s not good for us, let me just clean this up and make sure it doesn’t infect my surroundings’
Be coral for those around you, be a sponge in the right water, and don’t be a rock or a cock.
