We cannot continue to neglect the gift we are given.
The simplicity of gratitude is often misinterpreted, so much so, we miss what to even be grateful for.
I heard today of an exercise that can be effective for practicing gratitude.
Write down 5 things you are grateful for, each of which has to be tied to an individual sense.
I am grateful to hear the birds as I stand in our backyard
I am grateful to see the beauty of our home (which is in disarray)
I am grateful to feel the cool breeze through my clothing
I am grateful to taste the espresso I crafted
I am grateful to smell my stinky dog everywhere I go
These are some brief examples of some things I can be grateful for that I experienced today. My stinky dog is a loved dog, otherwise, the hair everywhere is less appealing.
The main reason to find practices of gratitude and find ways to maximize time are two fold. If we have nothing to be grateful for, purpose eludes us. If we neglect our ability to bend time then we will let procrastination disable us.
There are many awarenesses that come through time awareness, the one that should not be at the frontal lobe, however, is the fear of death or the amusement of such.
Even I’ve toyed with the idea of death with this platform, and the reality is, it’s inevitable in this vessel. We cannot marry the idea that everything will be okay because we’ll die soon anyways.
If you want to handicap yourself from being a productive contributor to the betterment of society, or the enhancements of civilization, then you’re ultimately going to amount to nothing really. All the weight you neglect simply crushes others.
If that’s the life you want to live then you’re wasting breath. None of what I said about being a neglect is to entice you into submission of inaction.
You have to treat life like a bucking bronco.
If you’re going to let go and get thrown off, you might as well get a horse shoe to the face while you’re down.
Most times, you will. You can’t give up and expect to be greater than you were when you started, still. That’s not how the game works. I’ve experienced it first hand. I’ve let go of the bronco. DON’T DO THAT.
Stick shit through and find a way to tame the beast. Don’t let go or seek another horse, unless you really can’t figure out the thing, but if you desire it and it’s aligned, it will continue unfolding until things are a bit more controllable. Until then, accept the ride.
